This is the developement blog for Space Unlimited. As I go on my journey to create the ultimate `Unlimited Space Game` for the PC. I will try to cope with the Huge numbers needed for `Real Size` solar systems and planets etc etc...

These ships made me think of a swarm of bees for a moment o_0
I have this little question for you: how have you solved the problem of moving great distances? On the screenshot about particles the ship has a speed of ca 1000 km/h while the nearest fields seem to be 4000 km-s away. You're not trying to say we need to fly 4 hours to get there, now are you?
The crosshair,BTW, is waaaayy oversized ;)
Thanks for your questions.
Although the ships in the screen shots are only travelling at about 1000-2000km/h, when you engage autopilot the ship goes upto realy fast speeds - in the thousands of millions of km/h. (you can fly manually at these speeds too, but its very hard to control!)
We may also implement a time accelerator function to also speed things up! (like x10, x 100, x 1000 speed etc etc)
As for the cross hair, it is more of an overlayed display panel, when ships are with-in the radius it displays HUD info on them.
Thanks, all feedback is always welcome.

p.s. If you have any ideas or features that you would like to see in the game I would love to hear them.
Hey Steve it's Luke. I was wondering, are you planning on implementing any kind of "hyperspace" system for instant transport a-la Starlancer/Escape-Velocity?
Hi Luke.
The smaller ships will generally just fly at realy fast speeds. ( Faster than light, you will see how this is possible in later blogs).
As for big cruisers and alike - yes they may well have instant hyperjumps available.
All will be revealed eventualy :-)
